Project Description
Make-IT in Africa
The GIZ-implemented tech entrepreneurship initiative Make-IT in Africa has, since 2016, promoted digital innovation for sustainable and inclusive development in Africa. In 2019, Make-IT contracted K-Tiv to tell the story of their impact in promoting tech entrepreneurship and the innovation ecosystems of Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and Tunisia.
My K-Tiv collaborators built on the existing Make-IT visual identity for their first impact report — expanding their visual repertoire — while I helped with specific copywriting elements and edited this to completion. The report topped off an additional year-long editorial consultancy contract I held with Make-IT in Africa, which included the editing of many further reports, extensive online editing with WordPress and development of an English style guide for use in external communications.
After 2 years of implementation experience, we can proudly say that we have successfully combined the strengths of the public and private sectors to promote digital innovation for sustainable and inclusive development.
